The period between 1 September and 4 October (the Feast of St Francis of Assisi) is increasingly kept by many denominations as a ‘Season of Creation’ or ‘Creationtide’, when we reflect and commit to action on environmental issues.
Southwell Minster will be celebrating the season of Creationtide with three special services, launching on Sunday 13 September (‘Climate Sunday’) at the 10am Eucharist. The following Sunday (20 September) sees the return of the ever-popular Animal Blessing service (click here for further info) , held outside for the first time, in the Education Garden at 3pm. Dogs, cats, donkeys, hamsters… and all God’s creatures great and small are welcome, accompanied by well-behaved owners.
The season will culminate in a special Harvest Festival both online and in the Minster on 4 October.
