Heritage Open Day – take a free tour of Southwell Minster

Take a free tour of Southwell Minster and discover 1,000 years of history in the beautiful Georgian market town of Southwell, situated in the heart of rural Nottinghamshire.

Learn the fascinating history of Southwell Minster, from Saxon beginnings to the modern-day, on a tour of one of Britain’s best-loved Cathedrals.
Stunning stained glass windows, wood and stone carvings, a fine Norman nave and even hidden carved mice await you! You’ll also visit the jewel in our crown, our magnificent 13th century Chapter House which we are delighted is back open after being closed for over a year whilst undergoing significant conservation work (thanks to a £2.2m National Lottery Heritage Funded project). The Chapter House is now also fully accessible for the first time after the installation of a new cantilever lift. Please note in the booking form if you need to use the lift.
