A Quiet Day exploring how the Desert Fathers and Mothers can help us both in our everyday spiritual lives and in ‘wilderness experiences’ like the pandemic.
This will be a day of reflection, worship and spaces for quiet, drawing on teachings and anecdotes from the colourful characters who went into the deserts of Egypt, Palestine and Syria from the 4th century onwards. While the Desert Fathers and Mothers can seem eccentric in their self-denial and sometimes strange actions, they were also generous hosts and wise guides. We will explore some ways in which their freedom of spirit and utter self-abandonment to God can inspire and encourage us now.
Very soon after the day we will send you, as email attachments, some further material for reflection on the themes addressed.

Donations
As this is not being held in the house, we are not making a formal charge. However, we are embarking on an extensive renovation programme to help us deliver a better service in the future and all donations are gratefully received. Donations can be made below.
We suggest an offering of £15 for the Quiet Day but we want you to feel free to offer what feels right to you and making a donation is not a pre-requisite to attending the day.
If you complete the donation form, please remember that you also need to separately book a ticket
