Join us this Holy Week and Easter for worship at our new Worship Online page. Separated by distance, we are united in Christ as we retell the story that changes everything, and as we celebrate the good news that we all need to hear – now more than ever.

Palm Sunday (5 April)
10.30am: EUCHARIST FOR PALM SUNDAY
President: The Dean
Preacher: The Canon Precentor
Our service for Palm Sunday includes the story of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, and also a recording of the Passion Gospel created by clergy from 18 English cathedrals, including Southwell.

MONDAY AND TUESDAY OF HOLY WEEK (6 & 7 APRIL)
7.30pm COMPLINE WITH ADDRESS
Monday: The Dean
Tuesday: The Canon Precentor
A simple celebration of the office of Compline, or Night Prayer, as we walk with Jesus through the first part of Holy Week.

WEDNESDAY OF HOLY WEEK (8 April)
7.30pm A SERVICE FOR THE RENEWAL OF COMMITMENT TO MINISTRY
with the Rt Revd Paul Williams, Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham.
On what would have been the night of the Diocese’s Chrism Eucharist, when holy oils are blessed and clergy and lay ministers renew their ministerial vows, Bishop Paul leads a service in which all Christians are invited to reflect on and re-affirm their call to follow Jesus.

Maundy Thursday (9 April)
7.30pm EUCHARIST OF THE LORD’S SUPPER
President: The Canon Precentor
Preacher: The Canon Theologian
We recall the Last Supper, the final occasion when Jesus was able to be together with his disciples, before going on to reflect on his betrayal and arrest. Following the service, all are invited to light a candle and ‘keep watch’ with Jesus.

GOOD FRIDAY (10 April)
10.30am THE LITURGY OF GOOD FRIDAY
President: The Dean
A service of readings and prayers as we encounter Christ at the foot of the cross

DEVOTIONS FOR GOOD FRIDAY
The Revd Preb. Dr Catherine Wright, who would have been leading the Minster’s Three Hours’ Devotion this year, has prepared readings, reflections, and prayers to help us to enter into the solemnity of this holiest of days.

EASTER EVE (11 April)
5.30pm EVENING PRAYER
The Canon Precentor
A simple and stark service of Evening Prayer, as we wait with all Christians for the dawning of Easter Day.

8.00pm – dawn: RUMOURS OF HOPE: A VIGIL FOR OUR TIMES
A Virtual Vigil for Easter Eve, with reflections from around the UK, including Southwell. Contributors include Paula Gooder and Malcolm Guite. See https://www.rumoursofhope.co.uk/ for more details.

EASTER DAY (12 April)
