Singing is fun! Singing is inclusive!

Singing is enjoyable, helps to build confidence, encourages teamwork and supports learning with its cross-curricular benefits.

The singing leaders for the Southwell Minster Choral Outreach Programme are all professional musicians working in the Cathedral’s Music Department. They visit primary schools to lead singing workshops with pupils, to encourage singing within the whole school community and to support teachers to lead singing in their schools. The Outreach team is accompanied on some school visits by boy and girl choristers from Southwell Minster who sing with the pupils.

In addition to the work in primary schools, the Choral Outreach team leads singing workshops for children visiting Southwell Minster for our education programme Time Travelling – and there is a performance opportunity in the Cathedral at the end of the day.
