A Service of Celebration on the 75th Anniversary of
Victory in Europe Day
Friday 8 May: 11am

This service is led by The Very Reverend Nicola Sullivan, Dean of Southwell.
The address is given by the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham, The Rt Revd Paul Williams.
Music is sung by a number of Choristers of the Cathedral Choir.
The organ is played by Paul Provost, Rector Chori.

We are pleased to be joined by many from across Southwell, the city and county for this service of thanksgiving to mark Victory in Europe 75 years ago. Today we pause to reflect on the sacrifice made by the Second World War generation, and although limited by ‘lockdown’ we gather together in spirit to pray for the peace and healing of the world.

Please do join in at home as you are comfortably able: you may wish to stand, sit and kneel as you normally would in church (we have included instructions for posture in the order of service for this reason), and/or to speak and sing along with the congregational elements of the service.

A video of the Service will appear below at 11am. You do not need to sign in to watch it. Please refresh your browser by pressing F5 if the video doesn't play.
