The stunning setting of Southwell Minster is perfect for music around the theme of light, space and the natural world. The concert features music by Vierne and the remarkable Hymn to the Sun by Lili Boulanger. Selections from Holst’s exotic Hymns from the Rig Veda (from Indian mythology) are contrasted with Jonathan Dove’s thrilling Vast Ocean of Light and the choral version of Elgar’s glorious Sea Pictures.
