A warm welcome awaits our youngest visitors. From young explorers in the school holidays to Sunday worshippers, all will find something here to excite and engage them.

We always have an exciting seasonal Family Activity Trail which is available from our friendly stewards at the Welcome Desk. You can download our Family Explorer trail using the links below:

FAQs for Children and Families

Is the Minster Accessible?

Most areas can be accessed by buggy or wheelchair, excepting the Chapter House and the Pilgrim’s Chapel.

Does the Minster have baby-change facilities?

Yes – there is an accessible toilet with baby change at the Archbishop’s Palace and the Refectory.

Is there a café?

Yes, the shop and Refectory are close to the Minster on Church Street. High chairs are available and it is accessible for buggies.

Is the Minster child / toddler-friendly?

Yes, toddlers and children are very welcome. There is always a children’s trail available from the Stewards, which is fun to do together and we have a range of family fun days and activities throughout the year.

There is also a children’s area with toys and books in the Minster and torches / binoculars can be borrowed from the welcome desk for young explorers.
