Tuesday 14th April 2026
at 2.30pm in the State Chamber
A fresh look at the origins, importance and history of the Palace that will explore some of the “known unknowns” and that will address the ‘chicken and egg’ question: Is the Archbishops’ Palace in Southwell because of the Minster or is the Minster in Southwell because of the Archbishops’ Palace?
Speaker: Roger Blaney
Roger has been a Steward and Guide since 2015, following a career in marketing and general management. His areas of research have included the Chantries and Chantry Chapels of the Minster and, most recently, the Archbishops’ Palace whose importance, he believes, is woefully underappreciated.
