Monday to Saturday: 10.00am – 6.30pm
Sunday: 10.00am – 4.30pm
Visitors are welcome throughout the day.
As services and events take place, access may vary – please check our calendar and closure notices page for up-to-date information on any areas of the Minster that may be closed.
- Entry: Suggested donation of £5 per person / £10 for families
- Services: Daily worship – all are welcome
- Café & Shop: Open during visiting hours
What to expect
When you arrive at the Minster, you will be warmly welcomed by our team, who are on hand to help you make the most of your visit.
They can answer questions, provide information about what to see, and help with facilities and events taking place. If you need anything during your visit, please do ask.
Members of the clergy are also available if you would like a conversation or a moment of spiritual support.
Guidebooks are available to purchase online or in the Cathedral Shop.

Toilets, including an accessible toilet, are located in the Archbishop’s Palace next door to the Minster.

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome inside the Minster, its grounds and gardens.

Accessibility
The building is wheelchair friendly, with the exception of the The Historic Library.
A new cantilever lift has been installed to allow access to the Chapter House. We have a wheelchair available and there are large-print guides, braille guides and a loop hearing system. The north and south doors can be opened electronically, by low-level touch pads.
There is a self-operating lift in The Archbishop’s Palace enabling visitor to access the State Chamber. If you require any assistance in using the lift please ask a member of the team.
