See the earth as you’ve never seen it before with a special installation ‘Gaia’ by the artist Luke Jerram our crafts, games and activities all link to our fabulous planet! See below the menu of activities on offer to help you plan your day. Please note, some activities are free with no need to book while others are ticketed events with a small charge.

Drop-in, crafts, activities and games in the Minster and gardens, ‘have a go’ harp sessions, borrow a phone microscope, exhibition of microscopic images and much more. (This does not include access to the Gaia installation.) - View Gaia with talks by the Average Scientist: See Gaia in all her splendour! This ticket allows you access to the earth installation ‘Gaia,’ by the artist Luke Jerram, and includes an interactive talk from ‘The Average Scientist’ (at 10.15am, 12.00pm and 2.30pm). It’s only £2 for kids and £3 for adults. BOOK HERE (This ticket does not include the art workshop which needs to be booked separately.)
- ‘Green Man Water Colour’ Family Art Workshop: join artist Elaine Winter in the State Chamber to create your own green man. Make your own ‘paint’ from plant based sources and create an artwork inspired by natural earth-themed carvings from the Minster. Ticketed workshop, (£5 11am-11.15am & 12.45pm–2pm) BOOK HERE (This ticket does not include access to the Gaia installation.)
