Our popular series of Friday lunchtime concerts in the Minster is back for 2024.

Admission to these lunchtime concerts will be free, although contributions to a retiring collection will be invited, proceeds of which go towards the Minster’s organ scholarship. Prior to each concert tea, coffee and biscuits will be available from 1pm.

The current list of 2024 concerts that have so far been confirmed can be found below

19 January: Minster school Disney Centenary
2 February: Six Cellos Various cello music and esembles
16 February: Joseph Murfin and Charles Tebbs (two Pianos) Rhapsody in Blue, plus songs and piano music by Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue centenary. Other performers at this concert will be Guy Turner and Lauren Osmond, accompanied by Jonathan Allsopp.
1 March: Joseph Geary Flute Recital
15 March: Bernard and Jill Blackwell Folk Music
5 April: Kelvin Njoroge Macharia Song Recital
19 April: Roz Burrows, Guy Turner, Tim Selman Henry Mancini Centenary
3 May: Lynda Edwards Bassoon Recital
24 May: Timothy Selman Organ Recital
14 June: Stephen Cooper + Paul Provost Song Recital
28 June: Musicians of the Minster School Varied recital
26 July: Katharine Dryden – David Machell Song recital
9 August: Stanley Hardy Piano Recital

18 October: Moon Music Related to Luke Jerram’s The Moon
1 November: Brahms Quartet songs etc Lauren, Me , Spil, Tim plus a sop
22 November: Mariatu Kanneh-Mason St Cecilia’s Day Cello recital
13 December: Choristers Christmas Music
