Although 2020 had its challenges, there are plenty of wonderful #LeavesofSouthwell community memories. In early spring, hard hat tours gave a unique opportunity to view the contractors at work on the roof. Before lockdown, we partnered with Inspire Learning Skills for a Leaf Printing workshop and squeezed in a Family Fun Day and a conference focusing on the processes and people who made our leaves carvings. During lockdown, a crafting competition was held with entries on display in the Minster when restrictions eased. An autumnal nature trail for families inspired children to create their own ‘Green Men’, while in December, Dr Sophie Hollinshead gave a popular online talk about winter traditions. Our creative leaves inspired outreach sessions with Reach Learning Disability was a great way to end 2020.
