Merry Christmas!🎄
We've got lots of services today so why don't you join us with your family and friends, and if you're alone this Christmas you're sure to find a warm welcome here - the perfect place to spend a bit of Christmas day!

8am - Holy Communion with Carols

10am - Cathedral Eucharist, includes music sung by the Cathedral Choir, as well as familiar Christmas hymns

11.15am - Festal Mattins, with uplifting music by Stanford, Mathias and Warlock sung by the Cathedral Choir

12.30pm - Holy Communion

3.30pm - Evening Prayer with Carols

Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus needed!

Southwell Minster is looking for a family to play Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus for our ever-popular Crib Service on Christmas Eve at 2pm.

We need parents with a baby of up to about 8 months to take part in this essential part of the Minster’s Christmas celebrations. No acting experience is needed, and there are no lines to learn! We can even help with costumes.

Southwell Minster’s Angel Window will feature in

Southwell Minster’s Angel Window will feature in #DivineLight, the latest campaign by the Association of English Cathedrals that features the remarkable stained glass of England's cathedrals every day through Advent and Christmas.

This window was installed in 1996 and was designed and painted by Patrick Reyntiens and made in York. Reyntiens described it as “a great gathering of angels enjoying being with God, just all joy and worship”. In all there are over 300 angels – can you find them all?

Darkness to Light: The Cathedral Advent Procession, tonight, 6.30pm.

Join us this evening for our Cathedral Advent Procession – one of the choral highlights of our year, with readings and music to set us on our way towards Christmas.

Early arrival is advised

A mixture of returning favourites and new stallholders are all lined up for this year’s Winter Craft Fair at Southwell Minster.

Friday 7 November, 4-8pm, includes a prosecco and wine bar 🍾

Saturday 8 November, 10am-3.30pm, hot drinks available ☕️

There will be 60+ stalls selling a wide range of goods in the Minster, as well as an additional 15 in the stunning State Chamber of The Archbishop’s Palace next door (open both days). This is one of the region’s most loved events and is the perfect place to pick up a gift for a loved one whilst helping support independent businesses. Expect jewellery, ceramics, glassware, textiles, hand-crafted cards, food & drink, and much, much more.

Entry: £3 suggested donation (under 16s free)
