Lunchtime Concert in the State Chamber

The Southwell Singers is a small choir of musical friends gathered together recently by Patrick Burnham, a former Head Chorister here at the Minster. This short concert will include choral works by Fauré and Bach, and also include duet and trio items by Brahms, Mozart and Mendelssohn. Judy Dodd and Helen Mockler (sopranos), Gill McGhee (contralto) and David Henshaw and Chris Ebbern (bass-baritones) present contrasting English and European song from the 19th and early 20th century. Also featuring are Lauren Collings (French horn), Abi Parker (pianist and singer) and Woodwind Chamber Music, let by local flautist, Joanne Williams.

Admission to this concert is FREE. There is a retiring collection after the concert, proceeds of which go towards the Minster’s Milo Chorister Fund which helps support the Cathedral Chorister Programme. Please note that this concert will be taking place at an earlier time than our regular lunchtime concert series, and will be held in the State Chamber in the Archbishops Palace./em>
