COP 26 – Day of action

As a Partner in Action with the Christian charity, A Rocha, we are keen to share our concerns for biodiversity and the climate as widely as possible. The Cathedral is working alongside local organisations such as Green Southwell, and will be welcoming a local procession on 6 November. As well as providing an opportunity to make our voices heard, the procession will collect prayers and messages of hope to be brought into the Minster for display, and as a focus of reflection.

Along with others across the world, here at Southwell Minster we are praying for our planet and for those working to mitigate the effects of climate change. We pray that those gathering at the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference can commit to acting boldly, fairly and in agreement. We pray for people throughout the world who are already suffering the effects of others’ greed and indifference, and for ecosystems changed and damaged by the effects of biodiversity loss and global warming.
