Our Dementia Choir, with Vicky McClure

‘Our Dementia Choir’ began as part of a documentary created for BBC1 in 2018, formed by BAFTA award winning actress, Vicky McClure. Their recent series – the third one for the choir – ‘Our Dementia Choir Sings Again’ was aired on BBC1 in October 2022.

The choir has had such an immeasurably positive effect that it’s members continue to meet and has become a registered charity in its own right, supporting people in the Nottinghamshire area who are living with dementia.

Under the charity management of Karen Bonser, the charity team of supporters and volunteers, together with the exceptional musical leadership of Mark De-Lisser and Daniela Smith, the choir has continued to meet and sing and showcase exceptional performances in a variety of ways! Their biggest audience to date was singing at Splendour Festival to 24,000 people in the Summer of 2022.

The Choir aims to support venues and charities across the county and have partnered with Southwell Minster for this amazing summer event! It is sure to be an emotional performance as the Choir performs with local school children from across the county, as well as other guests!

When you see the choir sing – you will be exposed to a range of emotions – joy, sadness, laughter, excitement, amazement - and more often than not you will have no choice but to get up and sing along!

You've probably seen them on TV, now see them live at this special concert! Depending on Vicky's filming schedule, she may make an appearance too!

This is one event not to miss!
