Words & Music: Gaia – Our Only Home

Inspiring poetry and music performed beneath the awe-inspiring Gaia, in the Minster’s beautiful Nave. Refreshments will be served in the State Chamber following the performance.

Join us for a special celebration of our precious planet in poetry and song. Words, ancient and modern, sung and spoken, have been carefully chosen to reflect the joys and wonders of creation. Performed beneath the awe-inspiring Gaia installation in the Minster’s beautiful Nave, this feast of words and music promises to be something to remember.

4.30-5.15pm followed by refreshments in the Crossing.

£5 entry. Tickets available online by clicking here or from the Cathedral Shop, in person or on 01636 812933.

The astronomer Carl Sagan described the earth as a small blue dot in space – Gaia’s strength and majesty brings that perspective much closer to home.

The programme will conclude with a new, Gaia-inspired poem specially written for the occasion, to be read here for the first time by the poet.
