A powerful programme of English choral music centred around Parry’s emotional Songs of Farewell.
World renowned choir The Sixteen return with their annual Choral Pilgrimage tour, this year entitled ‘An Old Belief’. The programme is based around Hubert Parry’s wartime masterpiece Songs of Farewell, a set of six choral motets that aim to reflect not only peace and unity and the search for a better world, but also an escape from the horrors of war. The work is accompanied by three short works from Thomas Campion, coupled with medieval carols and a new commission by Cecilia McDowall.
