Following the Government announcement on Monday 23 March, all Church of England cathedrals and churches are closed until further notice.

 

The regular pattern of services is as follows

During term-time, sung services are shared between the Cathedral Choir and the Minster Chorale. The usual pattern is:

7.30am Morning Prayer and the Litany (BCP) [Pilgrims' Chapel]
8.00am Holy Communion (BCP) [Quire]
9.30am Family Eucharist [Nave]
sung by one of the Minster Choirs on rotation
11.15am Sung Eucharist (BCP) [Quire]
sung by the Cathedral Choir
3.30pm Evensong sung by the Cathedral Choir

Please note: some Sundays have one 10.30am Eucharist instead of two (at 9.30am and 11.15am) - please see the service schedule before you plan your visit.

8.30am Morning Prayer [St Oswald's]
9.00am Holy Communion [Sacrista Prebend Chapel]
5.30pm Evensong sung by the Girl Choristers
7.30pm Contemplative Prayer [Sacrista Prebend Chapel]

Tuesday
7.30am Morning Prayer [St Oswald's]
8.00am Holy Communion [Pilgrims’ Chapel]
5.30pm Evensong sung by the Boy Choristers

Wednesday
7.30am Morning Prayer [St Oswald's Chapel]

12.15pm Holy Communion [Sacrista Prebend Chapel]
5.30pm Evening Prayer

Thursday
7.30am Morning Prayer [St Oswald's Chapel]
8.00am Holy Communion [Airmen's Chapel]
9.45am Holy Communion [Airmen’s Chapel]
12.30pm Silence and Meditation [usually in the Sacrista Prebend Chapel]
5.30pm Evensong sung by the Cathedral Choir

Friday

8.00am Holy Communion [St Oswald’s Chapel]
5.30pm Evensong sung by the Cathedral Choir

Saturday
8.30am Morning Prayer [St Oswald's]
9.00am Holy Communion [Pilgrims’ Chapel]
5.30pm Evensong sung by the Cathedral Choir

Unless stated, Evensong/Evening Prayer takes place in the Quire.
