Some final touches have now been put to the Chapter House. Skillingtons workshop have cleaned the carvings and stonework, repointing and grouting cracks with lime mortar and making repairs as they go. A new discreet, hi-tech lighting system is fully installed and tested – we can now light up the Chapter House properly for the first time in its 700 year old history, meaning the world-renowned naturalistic carvings can be seen at their best, day or night.
