The Palace Gardens at Southwell Minster are looking for garden volunteers to help maintain this special site right at the heart of the Southwell community. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get outside, learn new skills and meet new people. You’ll be working alongside our friendly garden team to undertake a range of tasks that will help keep the gardens looking beautiful all year around. There’s a diverse range of activities to get stuck in to. These include;
• dead-heading, weeding & staking
• lifting & dividing perennials
• caring after trees & shrubs
• edging the grass
• rose pruning
• propagation in the greenhouse
• being a friendly face to visitors exploring the garden.

This would be a fun and rewarding experience for all skill levels, from garden novices to horticultural specialists. There’s green-fingered opportunities for everyone!
If you can spare a couple of hours every week or would like to volunteer on a more ad-hoc basis, this could be the welcoming and sociable environment you’ve been looking for. Why not get in touch with Head Gardener Claire Connely to find out more. Email

No experience needed, full training and support given.
